ECOLE BILINGUE DE LA NOUVELLE-ORLÉANS, founded in 1998, provides a private, friendly and language-enriched environment for every student. We are Louisiana’s first and only private French school accredited by the French government and the State of Louisiana providing multilingual education for 18-month-old students through the 8th grade. Since the formation of our elementary school, it has been the mission of Ecole Bilingue to provide a strong and distinctive bilingual education for children in New Orleans by combining the best of French and American academics.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking French speaking substitute teachers to join our team at Ecole Bilingue, specifically in the preschool through kindergarten levels. The ideal candidate should have a passion for early childhood education, a strong command of the French language, and the ability to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support to students in French immersion preschool through kindergarten classes.
- Follow lesson plans and educational activities provided by the regular classroom teacher.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages language development and exploration.
- Engage students in interactive learning experiences that align with the school's curriculum.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (or pursuing a degree).
- Proficiency in French
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Flexibility and adaptability to different classroom environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with French immersion teaching methods.
- Creative and energetic approach to teaching and engaging with young learners.
