EcoMech Geothermal & Mechanical is a cutting-edge specialty boutique geothermal HVAC company based in the Atlanta, Georgia area. We design, install, service, and maintain geothermal heatpump HVAC systems for residential and commercial properties. We focus on large and complex jobs that require our unique skillset.

The market is booming right now as homes and buildings are built and people become more conscious of the costs and environmental impact of their energy consumption.
We have a small, close-knit team and are looking to add a mechanical service and installation technician team-member to help us service the overwhelming inbound demand for our services. We want people on our team who are passionate about geothermal HVAC and who want to grow with us as we continue to cement our position as the best geothermal HVAC installation services firm in the state of Georgia.
Compensation: Starting wage would be $20-40 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years of experience with a licensed HVAC company (with experience troubleshooting, repairing, pricing, cleaning, and interfacing with customers)
- Knowledge of heat-pumps (typically no more than 5 tons, single-phase equipment such as straight-cool AC paired with 90% or 80% furnace)
- Ownership of his own hand tools (or willingness to obtain hand tools he needs); company provides gauges, torches, scales, and power tools
- A cool demeanor and an ability to thrive in a sometimes-stressful work environment; ability to work will with a range of personalities
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and new construction (residential required & additional commercial experience is a plus)
- Various licenses and certifications are a bonus and some may be required for certain types of work
Job Description
EcoMech is looking for a Geothermal HVAC Installation & Service Technician in the Atlanta or Palmetto, Georgia area. We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate about geothermal HVAC and green-energy technology and is excited to grow with our cutting-edge company.
Since we are a small company, the role comes with the opportunity to take on a lot of responsibility and offers opportunities for advancement and promotion.
Our Geothermal HVAC Installation & Service Technician will take on many responsibilities including:
- Independently executing service jobs such as balancing zone dampers, fixing HVAC vents, replacing coils, compressors, and thermostats
- Articulating and documenting issues for customers
- Following through on promises and commitments
- Performing startups on previously roughed equipment and overseeing/managing rough and installation crews
- Managing installation work (depending on skillset and preferences), including participating in equipment changeouts and retrofits and managing new construction projects
- Potentially managing the installation and tie-in of geothermal loops in vertically drilled systems, horizontally trenched systems, or lake-loops
- Purging loops and installing flow-centers and other geothermal & HVAC components in the mechanical system
- Performing the work independently, managing subordinates, and overseeing subcontractors
- Performing complex gas piping work on residential and commercial new construction projects
