Grant-Writer (Part-Time Contract)
PROJECT SUMMARY:
EMPath seeks a qualified and skilled contractor to provide part-time interim support to its Institutional Advancement team, reporting to the Senior Director of Development. The position will focus on grant writing, prospect research, and data management. This contract position will last through at least March 2025, with a weekly commitment of 10-15 hours. There may be potential to extend.
The ideal contractor will have demonstrated knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, grant writing, and nonprofit fundraising practices with experience in the human services field. This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to an organization driving transformative change for individuals and families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
Grant Application Preparation:
- Convert grant applications and reports into editable Word documents for team use.
- Gather and compile required grant attachments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain and update grant calendars to monitor deadlines and track submission progress.
- Conduct detailed research on identified prospective funders to compile relevant information.
- Organize prospect information into the grant calendar and Raisers Edge for future planning.
- Maintain and update accurate records of data, including sensitive donor and organizational information, following confidentiality policies.
- Log hours worked per task for transparency and accountability.
- Follow internal communication protocols to ensure efficient task management across projects.
- Collaborate on the preparation and submission of grant applications by formatting documents, drafting engaging and well-structured narratives, creating accurate budgets, and compiling all required attachments.
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of grant reports by formatting and organizing reports, collecting and analyzing relevant data, drafting clear narratives, and assembling necessary documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when following written directions.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and accountability.
- Familiarity with nonprofit operations and/or educational organizations is a plus.
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge.
- Commitment to EMPath’s mission, vision, and values.
- High level of integrity and respect for confidentiality.
