ABOUT THE ROLE :
The Program Mentor (Economic Mobility Coach) goes beyond case management and is the primary point of contact and part of a dynamic team co-investing with participants, using Mobility Mentoring®—an internationally recognized economic coaching approach, with goal-setting at its center. This position provides essential in-person direct services.
This position will be reporting to the Director of Residential and Program Mentoring.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assists participants with housing placement opportunities on a daily basis.
- Provides one-to-one Mobility Mentoring coaching to participants on goals related to upward economic mobility, including housing, budgeting, career and education, child care, health care, and more.
- Conducts detailed assessments to identify each family’s strengths and needs and establishes individual mobility goals, while monitoring and documenting progress on individualized plans.
- Maintains a strong sense of emotional intelligence, reliability, and flexibility to navigate complex issues at any given time with sound reasoning.
- Communicates effectively to a wide array of audiences from participants to external stakeholders.
- Adheres to Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) contractual requirements.
- Completes weekly accurate and timely service documentation; maintains data management records and assists with program reporting tracking elements.
- Cooperates with participants to resolve challenges and makes referrals to EMPath specialists in areas where more intense support is needed.
- Utilizes a trauma-informed and trust-centered orientation coaching strategy.
- Maintains resourcefulness and ensures referrals are made in collaboration with internal and external resources.
- Follows all EMPath and Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) policies and procedures, including emergency preparedness, fitness of habitability, and others as required.
- May occasionally accompany participants to offsite appointments.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES :
WORKING HOURS :
Program Mentors work a four-day, nine-hour / day work week; the specific day off will be coordinated with the team to ensure adequate program coverage at Hastings House.
Working hours offer some flexibility in covering the core hours of 8 am to 7 pm. Occasional evening hours may be needed to support programming or community meetings. Flexible hours are available depending on program coverage needs.
While primarily onsite, Program Mentors may occasionally accompany participants to offsite housing appointments. Hybrid work is not available for this role.

PAY TRANSPARENCY :
This hourly role has an annualized salary range of $50,000 - $54,000, depending on experience.
