Position Summary
Zuppardo’s Family Market, family owned and operated, has been a staple in the community for over 90 years, providing delicious food, great value and exceptional service. We are looking for a professional, service orientated Front End Manager to continue that tradition in our high-volume store.
The Front-End Manager oversees the efficient and customer-focused operations of the front-end of the store, including cashiers, baggers, customer service, and point-of-sale systems. This role ensures exceptional customer experiences, efficient transactions, and smooth day-to-day operations while supervising and coaching the front-end team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Supervision
- Manage, train, and motivate front-end team members, including cashiers and customer service associates.
Customer Experience
- Uphold a positive shopping experience for all customers by maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient front-end area.
- Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
Operations and Financial Management
- Oversee all front-end operations, including cash handling, register balancing, and compliance with store policies.
- Team Development
- Conduct onboarding and training for new front-end team members.
- Develop cross-training initiatives to build team flexibility and skill development.
- Motivate and ensure focus and store mission is accomplished
- Policy and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all company policies
- Store Presentation
- Maintain clean and organized front-end areas
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher is a plus.
- 2 years previous experience in a leadership or management role, in a large format grocery environment.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi task and lead a team of 70 employees
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks, such as scanning and bagging items.
