We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced Building and Grounds Technician to join our growing Facilities team. The Building and Grounds Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance and continuous improvement of the EControls and Ethium manufacturing buildings which includes the internal (walls, ceilings, floors) and external (roof, windows, facia, etc.) aspects of the buildings. This position is also responsible for the landscaping, irrigation and general maintenance of the grounds. The Building and Grounds technician will identify and implement best practices for a safe and efficient environment for customers and employees.
Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements, and maintains practices and standards that ensures a clean, beautiful, and safe environment.
  • Coordinates directs building & grounds staff/contractors to complete assigned duties, which may include scheduling work and making work assignments.
  • Performs the same work as subordinates as needed.
  • Inspects quality of work of staff and contractors that is in progress and completed.
  • Ensures safe working conditions by identifying and correcting unsafe work conditions and reporting workplace incidents.
  • Ensure all maintenance is scheduled, performed and documented according to state and local code requirements.
  • Provide high quality, consistent, efficient and accurate work for internal and external customer service supporting the company’s core values.
  • Coordinates with the other facility technicians for electrical/mechanical repairs on all building or grounds systems.
  • Coordinates all permitting, and inspections required by local authorities in the absence of Management.
  • Responsible for the logging and tracking of problems to report, track and resolve complex issues.
  • Operates lifts, forklifts, or motorized vehicles such as trucks and vans.
  • Operates other specialized equipment.
  • Other responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education, training and experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify issues and help develop strategic and tactical plans for various department initiatives.
  • Willingness to work overtime and/ot weekends as required.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work both independently and with others
  • Ability to operate in a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to use good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.
