The Production Control General Manager will play a pivotal role in our Production Control Department with managing the material flow, production planning, shipping and receiving and control processes to support our manufacturing operations. The Production Control General Manager will ensure efficient production scheduling, inventory management, and coordination with various departments to meet customer demands and improve operational efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Develop and implement long-term production planning strategies to align with company goals and customer requirements
- Ensure all parts are delivered to the customer on time
- Lead the development of annual production schedules and capacity planning initiatives.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Ensure production schedules are effectively communicated to manufacturing and other relevant departments.
- Identify potential risks and bottlenecks in the production planning process, create contingency plans to address production disruptions and ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
- Create and maintain master production schedules, considering customer orders, production capacity, and material availability.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and develop training programs for team members.
- Analyze production capacity, demand forecasts, and resource availability to optimize production schedules and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless production operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee inventory management processes, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory levels.
- Develop and maintain inventory control systems to ensure accurate tracking and timely replenishment of materials.
- Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and reduce lead times.
- Collaborate with sales, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure alignment between production plans and customer demands.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for production control matters, both internally and externally.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Operations Management) highly desired.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in production control, planning, or a related field, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team of professionals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) and ERP systems
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with IATF 16949
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification
- LEAN Certification or other types of production system training (Six Sigma, JIT, ISO)
