Mix Room Operator - Painting
We are looking for a highly motivated Paint Mix Room operator. Knowledge in solvent borne paint preparation, paint delivery systems, as well as the handling of hazardous waste is a plus. The operator is responsible for, sludge chemicals, as well as paint jig cleaning. The ideal candidate must be a problem solver with tremendous drive and a willingness to roll up their sleeves.
Responsibilities.
- To follow all safety rules of Ecoplastic and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace including: training of new employees, reporting unsafe acts or conditions and correcting or commending health and safety performance.
- Ensure that you follow company policies and business objectives in the daily supervision of the operations of the company.
- Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to set good workplace standards and ensure all employees maintain those standards.
- To demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.
- Affectively manage all resources involved with paint mixing operations that results in zero downtime and minimal waste directly associated with the running operation of the paint line.
- Keep daily operating costs at a minimum by effectively managing labor, equipment, and resources.
- Coordinate paint material preparation with kitchen personnel adhering to paint suppliers’ TDS.
- Schedule and coordinate kitchen system flushes and filter changes to ensure material quality level is consistently delivered through the system.
- Maintenance activities at times will require paint mix room personnel to participate or perform. Personnel must become knowledgeable in the proper operation of the various systems associated with their activities.
- Paint and solvent tank inventories shall be managed and recorded at intervals set to meet paint production and operations.
- Audit and implement systems for batch control and adherence to non-conforming protocols for materials that are not compliant.
- Support and coordinate material obsolescence to minimize program waste at the end of a color’s life cycle.
- Maintain and manage paint booth sludge with the correct concentration level of chemicals through coordination with the paint lab team on daily titration results.
- Report daily, weekly, and monthly paint and sludge chemical consumptions.
- Coordinate the cleaning of the painting jigs through an outsourced company.
- Perform other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical experience with paint automated systems preferred.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- A strong sense of urgency and commitment to shipping quality products.
