What are the responsibilities and job description for the Validation Engineer position at Ecordia EU?

Roles/Responsibilities
• Use deep understanding of smart connected and feature devices from customer perspective in order to improve baseline product quality and test strategy.
• Understand carrier requirements and 3GPP specifications, review and interpret them into applied test cases and scenarios, maintain continual improvement of those cases and scenarios.
• Design test plans according to product functional requirements, build a test environment, complete localized testing and verification, and monitor and improve the project operation process pursuant to project goals and schedule.
• Put forward optimization suggestions from the perspective of testing and user experience.
• Perform telecom protocol cases in lab and provide technical support for customer or 3rd party labs, include 2G/3G/4G/5GNR/WIFI.
• Perform general feature testing such as activation, call, MDM, IMS, LBS, connectivity, application performance and power consumption, including carrier-specific tests as driven by carrier requirements.
• Perform automatic function testing and maintain test platform and scripts.
• Conduct various field testing such as audio quality, data throughput or call drop rate at defined locations and routes.
• Utilize logging and testing tools such as ADB, ELT, device logger, power monitor, QXDM, QCAT, QPST and Wireshark to perform validation testing.
• Apply JIRA/Confluence, Quality Center, Bugzilla, and other equivalent systems to perform bug tracking and reporting.
• Manage and investigate issues reported by carriers, Technical Account Managers, Quality Managers, Customer Care Managers, Validation Managers, and other Test Engineers. Provide technical training for internal departments and customers.
• Prepare test reports on readiness of software after analysis of test results.
• Provide after-sales technical support and follow-up resolution to assist developers in analyzing problems.
• Guide R&D and on-site engineering teams to test and debug device software issues and take ownership of all issues personally raised.
• Prioritize your tasks to align with the Manager’s expectations and align personal test development areas with internal and external customer expectations beads on test area shortfalls.
• Perform Validation duties as assigned by Manager, Device Validation.
