Operations - Engineering Intern

We are excited to welcome an Engineering Intern to the team! This role will support the Engineering Functions to assist and complete assigned projects   Your Impact:  Research and provide solutions to current projects ongoing within the engineering group Provide direction and coordination to contractors working on projects Ensure that all contracted work is completed safely and meets contract requirements Assist Engineers to design, approve and complete projects for new equipment or equipment modifications. Assist in monitoring spending to ensure projects are completed within budget Participate on plant Gemba walks to list and review suggestions for improvement with Engineering.   Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications: Currently enrolled in continuing education for a BS in an engineering discipline Proficient in reading design drawings, tolerancing and dimensioning Computer literacy and proficiency with software applications including Microsoft Office English fluency (read, write, speak) Read and understand units of measure Ability to perform basic engineering calculations Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain a positive, polite and friendly demeanor during challenging situations Must possess a strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple independent projects of appropriate scope and complexity for an intern Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs Must be willing to work in noisy, dirty, and dusty environments with the appropriate personal protective equipment
