Ecotone Inc. is looking for a positive and ambitious beginner heavy equipment operator (excavator operator) to join our growing team. Ecotone specializes in stream restoration, storm water pond retrofit, and wetland construction, as well as providing design, environmental consulting, and mitigation services.
Summary: The heavy equipment/ excavator operator will join a crew mostly performing clearing and grading. The successful candidate will demonstrate aptitude and competence operating equipment such as excavators and skid loaders. The majority of our work takes place in tight quarters, slippery conditions, and a multitude of environmental barriers. We work 52 weeks a year with occasional overtime. Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Manage ingress and egress of materials on site
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment and on site
- General routine equipment maintenance
- Qualifications/Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Able to read and follow design plans and specifications is a plus
- Stream restoration, storm water experience is a plus
- Must be positive, flexible, and customer-service oriented
- Clean driver's license
- Reliable source of transportation
- Drug test and background check required
