Your Mission:
Under guidance from the Natural Resources Team Leader, cooperate with other scientists, engineers, and project management staff to conduct natural resource inventories, secure permitting for ecological restoration projects, and monitor project sites post-construction.
Outcomes You Will Deliver:
- Lead natural resource investories, field surveys, and site monitoring
- Mentor other staff members on project tasks
- Manage field data using GIS
- Prepare reports on field investigations and yearly monitoring reports
- Lead stream/wetland restoration permit submittals and requests with various agencies
- Collaborate with Construction and Project Management teams to ensure compliance with planting and design criteria
- Contribute to projects, including scientific reports, cost estimates, and invoices
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and clients
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field; relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree
- Five years of direct experience in natural resource permitting for streams, wetlands and forestry, and post-construction monitoring
- Environmental consulting and/or environmental compliance experience: Forest Conservation Plans, Wetland Delineations/Wetland Impact Plates, Planting Plans, and similar environmental documents
- Substantial understanding of Maryland’s county and state environmental permitting process
- Mid-Atlantic Region Plant ID knowledge and the ability to create ecologically functional plant pallets
- Experience with Stream (Banks) Protocol and Shoreline TMDL crediting a plus
- Certification related to the profession is preferred (Professional Wetland Scientist, Qualified Professional, Certified Arborist, DNR MBSS certifications)
- Proficiency with GPS mobile units and ArcGIS highly preferred
- Ability to do occasional long field days in various weather conditions

Salary Range:
$80,000 – 100,000. The compensation for this role is commensurate with experience.
