Position Overview:
The Corporate HR/Talent Director will have a two-fold role in driving HR strategy and driving Talent and HR initiatives at Ecovyst. This role will partner with executive management, senior leaders, and the HR team to understand their needs and provide strategic HR guidance and support as the HRBP for all corporate functions. You will contribute to developing and implementing Talent Acquisition and Talent Development policies, processes, and programs that foster a positive work environment, drive employee engagement, and support the growth and success of the organization.
The Corporate HR/Talent Director will report directly to our CHRO and be based in Malvern, PA, working on a hybrid schedule. Travel to our multiple facilities in the US and Europe is required.
What you will be doing:
As HR Business Partner for Corporate Functions:
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders within Corporate Functions, ensuring that HR practices align with and support the business strategy.
- Work closely with Corporate Functions department heads and executives to understand their unique needs and challenges and translate them into actionable HR strategies and initiatives.
- Provide HR knowledge and expertise to Corporate Functions.
- Act as a sparring partner for Corporate Function leadership with the business's best interest in mind.
As Talent Management Lead
- Develop the overall Talent Management strategy and the HR strategy designed to meet Ecovyst business strategies.
- Lead design of talent management initiatives such as talent reviews, career pathing, succession planning, and key and emerging talent programs.
- Lead the design and delivery of all learning solutions, curriculums, and programs from new hire to executive aligned to business strategy, including needs assessments, instructional design, facilitation, and success metrics while demonstrating extensive knowledge of innovative practices and trends.
- Implement and oversee Talent cycle related to annual performance management, employee development, and goal/objective setting. Ensure appropriate use of HRIS tools.
- Actively engage with the HRBP community to resolve workforce and organizational capability issues and develop long-term strategies that address identified capability gaps.
- Optimize talent management systems, standards, and tools to obtain workforce performance and individual effectiveness.
- Partner with outside consultants and negotiate cost-effective programs.
- Partner with business leaders and HRBPs on key talent acquisition initiatives to ensure the business has the people and capabilities required to achieve current and future success.
- Provide training and support to managers and supervisors regarding their responsibilities in the performance management and career development areas for their reports.
- Provide hands-on execution of talent initiatives (recruiting, performance management, etc) when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, Industrial Psychology, Human Resources, or related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
- 8 years of Talent Development, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, or similar experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant HR Business Partner experience supporting union and nonunion manufacturing operations, preferably in the oil or chemical industry
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of organizational development, training, and development techniques.
- Experience navigating ambiguity and change, confidently offering creative solutions, and managing conflict in a frequently changing environment while bringing a sense of calm to the team, leading them through high-priority and impactful engagements.
- Strong executive presence and leadership capabilities, with experience presenting to and influencing senior-level leaders and key stakeholders.
- Strong results orientation, adaptability/flexibility, and organization skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple ongoing issues and priorities
- SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Ability to travel overnight 30% of the time
