Position Overview:
Utilize your proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG and stick welding. Proven track record of producing high-quality welds and meeting project deadlines.
What you will be doing:
• Welds metal parts together, using both stick rod and heli-arc welding techniques. Installs modifications to equipment, or structures. Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of fixed equipment to include pumps, seals, blowers and specialty chemical plant processing equipment.
• Operation of equipment necessary to complete these tasks such as forklift, man lift, drill presses, pipe threader, grinders, saws and assorted hand tools.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections on plant equipment
• Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and complete all applicable safety training as required.
• Properly inspect, use and maintain necessary PPE in accordance with site PPE matrix.
• Immediately report any unsafe condition or behavior to your supervisor and write safety work orders or near miss reports to document the unsafe conditions or actions.
• Ensure waste is properly labeled in compliance with local regulations.
• Ensure equipment approved for use e.g. forklifts, safety showers, ladders etc. is inspected.
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant maintenance experience in an industrial setting
• Certified in SMAW CS, SS in all positions.
• Certified in GTAW SS in all positions.
• Read blueprints and make rough iso sketches in field.
• Proficient in structural and process pipe welding
• Must be familiar with pipe fittings, and valves
• Basic computer and math skills
• Must be able to wear a full-face respirator
• Must be able to work under supplied air
• Must have the ability to climb a ladder
