Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician II plays a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment. This work is crucial for ensuring the uninterrupted operation of machinery, which in turn supports the overall productivity and efficiency of operations.
What you will be doing:
- Perform routine maintenance: performing preventative maintenance procedures, repairs, installation, and troubleshooting
- Perform machinery & mechanical equipment repairs and maintenance per procedures, manuals, diagrams, manufacturer’s spec using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring and testing instruments
- Operate machinery necessary to complete tasks such as forklift, man lift, scissor lift, drill presses and saws, and cranes up to15 tons (maximum)
- Perform daily routine preventive maintenance inspections on plant equipment
- Dismantle the failed equipment (motors, pumps) using hand and power tools such as hammers, wrenches, crowbars, torque wrenches etc. Transports it to the shop using hoist, lift trucks, dollies, and rollers
- Re-install the machinery/pumps after prepping the supporting surface. Bolts, rivets, welds or otherwise fasten machinery to the foundation
- Installation of all gearboxes, exhaust fans, belt drives, pump and motor anti-friction bearings
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Certificate from college or technical school such as NCCER, Millwright certification, Pipefitter certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Min of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry as a millwright, mechanic, pipefitter
- Welding skills Tig (GTAW), carbon steel (MIG), and arc welding (SMAW) or be able to obtain certification within 1 yr.
- Basic computer skills plus knowledge of SAP
- Able to perform basic math, basic welding (plate & pipe) preferred, and millwright & pipefitting skills
- Must have experience in pump repairs, mechanical seals, blowers, air compressors, seal replacement, and alignment.
- Must be able to drive a forklift, man lift, scissor lift and small cranes
- Must be knowledgeable in proper rigging techniques
