The Maintenance Planner is responsible for coordinating all planning and scheduling functions within the Sulfuric Acid Maintenance Department. The Planner evaluates material requirements, collaborates with vendors & contractors, the warehouse to obtain necessary materials, and schedule the jobs based on schedule saturation.
What you will be doing
- Plan and schedule maintenance & contractor work to optimize contractor resource utilization.
- Identify, plan, and procure materials and equipment for maintenance, turnarounds, and minor capital work orders.
- Secure necessary resources, including personnel, materials, and external expertise, to maximize efficiency and minimize reliability costs.
- Collaborate with operations and staff to define task requirements and work order logic for scheduling
- Support departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance planning and scheduling
- Generate required reports for daily execution updates and progress tracking
- Implement cost-effective planning practices to ensure the department meets budgetary goals.
- Develop detailed work plans to enhance job execution and quality.
- Support reliability initiatives to improve operational performance.
- Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of plant maintenance experience, with extensive hands-on knowledge of mechanical and civil work.
- At least 3 years of maintenance planning experience, preferably with CMMS systems like Maximo or SAP.
- Minimum of 3 years of construction planning experience, including knowledge of excavation and concrete work.
- Proficiency in reading isometric drawings and P&IDs.
- Prior experience in maintenance planning is highly preferred.
