Operators have the overall responsibility of operating the plant in a safe, environmentally sound, and efficient manner.
Monitor the process taking and interpreting process readings.
Identify, then both timely and correctly respond to process deviations.
As a team execute various process shutdowns and startups
Start and stop pumps, compressors, fans, etc.
Open & close valves.
Pull, label, submit process and finished goods samples for analysis.
Prioritize and troubleshooting operational problems.
Conduct water treatment readings, completing analysis in local laboratory.
Ensure a smooth shift change and share all pertinent information with the oncoming shift.
Enter work notifications/orders.
Enter incident reports.
Label field equipment Maintain process quality specifications.
Coordinate work with contractors and maintenance personnel
Perform initial equipment troubleshooting.
Perform autonomous maintenance (e.g., changing pressure gauges) as needed.
Read, understand, and follow shift instructions. Write shift notes.
Assist or direct tank truck drivers to safely load or unload materials.
Stay current on email.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in chemical/refining industry
or
Process Technology degree
Basic math and reading abilities.
Working knowledge of chemistry principles such as pH, density, pressure, and material compatibility
Basic knowledge of labor law.
Effective organization and time management skills
Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Computer knowledge including SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
People, Coaching, Coordinating, and Facilitating experience/skills preferable (5 years)
Operations / Logistics / Maintenance / Supply Chain experience preferred (5 years)
24/7 Continuous manufacturing experience preferred (5 years)
Knowledge of RC 14001 requirements
