Summary: Performs the duties of a lead person in the section by assigning work to others and checking to assure that daily work schedules and quality levels are met. Performs the duties at other cell workstations as directed by the supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assigns the work and provides day-to-day instructions as necessary for the completion of all assemblies.
Follows up the daily progress of assemblies in order to assure that the work is performed correctly and that all assemblies are progressing to meet daily schedules.
Assures that parts, equipment and components are available and in readiness for conducting the daily work.
Repairs units as needed during the production run.
As necessary, performs the duties to meet the daily work schedules.
Reads prints to assure correct assemblies are run, moves gaylords and other equipment with pallet jack to assure line running smoothly and efficiently for each line balance.
Transacts inventory moves with a radio frequency scanner.
Perform designated inventory audits so reorder of materials and inventory positions are maintained.
Assists in the annual physical inventory process.
Informs the supervisor of any work discrepancy or parts deficiency for remedial action necessary to a continuing operation.
Completes statistical process control charts and related quality documentation.
Completes visual inspection of parts for quality requirements according to work instructions.
Performs data entry.
Responsible for tracking parts produced, scrap, and regrind.
Notifies the supervisor of any faulty equipment or mechanical conditions, keeps the work area clean and orderly, and maintains equipment and tools in good working order.

Qualifications:

Must have a current forklift license.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

May be exposed to loud noise (these areas require hearing protection).
May be exposed to plastic resin odors as a byproduct of the manufacturing process.
May be exposed to heat in excess of 100 degrees as a result of outside temperatures.
