What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing position at ECPI University?
Responsibilities
For Student Affairs:
- Oversee student admission, academic progress, and graduation
- Evaluate student progress based on the ADN Nursing Program philosophy and objectives
For Faculty:
- Interview, select, and onboard qualified nursing faculty
- Supervise and assess program faculty, including in-class evaluations
For Program Development:
- Provide valuable feedback on course materials, practice changes, and student achievement
- Lead Program Advisory Board meetings
Professional Development:
- Stay current through continued education programs and academic courses
- Encourage staff and faculty professional growth through the same avenues
Qualifications
Education and Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in Nursing from an institutional accredited school (either ACEN, CCNE, etc) is required
- Current unrestricted registered nurse license in Virginia
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of registered nursing experience, enabling leadership and role responsibilities
- Two years of full-time experience as a faculty member in an approved nursing program
- A minimum of two calendar years of prior full-time employment (or equivalent) in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse or advanced practice nurse
