This position will be based in our Virginia Beach, VA location.
The Managing Director, Workforce Development Training is a strategic, entrepreneurial leader responsible for driving the growth, innovation, and operational excellence of a technical training division within ECPI University. This role focuses on developing high-impact training and certification programs in areas such as IT, cybersecurity, program management, and general sales training. The Managing Director oversees cross-functional teams, builds industry partnerships, and scales credential-based learning pathways to meet evolving workforce and employer demands.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Design and implement scalable strategies to expand technical training and certification offerings.
- Drive partnerships with to support workforce pipelines and upskilling
Program Development & Innovation
- Lead the enhancement of technical training programs for nationally recognized certifications.
- Work closely with instructional designers and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy, relevance, and industry alignment.
- Implement flexible learning models (online, hybrid, in-person) and support tools to increase accessibility and learner success.
- Establish quality assurance systems that measure outcomes, certification pass rates, and employer satisfaction.
Operations & Team Management
- Manage day-to-day operations, including sales, training delivery, support, and outcomes tracking.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team including technical trainers, sales professionals, and administrative staff.
- Monitor KPIs tied to program completion, certification attainment, and client satisfaction.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Revenue Growth & Client Partnerships
- Develop business development strategies to grow enrollment and corporate training contracts.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with enterprise clients and industry stakeholders.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to position programs as top-tier solutions for talent development.
Financial Oversight
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring profitability and responsible use of training funds.
- Report financial and operational performance to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Engineering, or a technical field; MBA or related graduate degree preferred.
- 7 years of experience in workforce development, technical education, or training program leadership.
- Strong leadership, business development, and operational management skills.
