Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a comprehensive safety program within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Spanish and English, and passionate about promoting a proactive, employee-driven safety culture. This is a critical leadership role with the opportunity to make a significant impact on organizational practices and employee well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Program Development & Management
- Design, implement, and continuously improve safety programs and policies tailored to our facility.
- Monitor program effectiveness to prevent accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
Safety Culture & Employee Engagement
- Foster a strong, proactive safety culture by encouraging participation at all levels.
- Engage with employees to gather feedback, address concerns, and promote ownership of safety practices.
- Develop initiatives that enhance employee involvement and awareness.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA and TCEQ requirements.
- Stay informed of regulatory updates and adjust company policies and procedures accordingly.
Training & Development
- Create and deliver engaging safety training programs across departments.
- Promote awareness of emergency procedures, safety best practices, and risk mitigation strategies.
Incident Management
- Investigate accidents and near-misses to identify root causes.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve workplace safety.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and regulatory reports.
Risk Assessment & Prevention
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
- Identify risks and develop action plans to mitigate hazards.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive EHS documentation, including policies, procedures, and training logs.
- Generate and present safety performance reports to leadership and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of safety management experience in a manufacturing environment (fiberglass or related industries preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, TCEQ, and other relevant regulatory standards
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a strong safety culture
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in conducting risk assessments, audits, and data-driven decision-making
Preferred:
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or other relevant certifications
- Bilingual: Fluent in both Spanish and English (verbal and written)
