What are the responsibilities and job description for the BTO FO SETA Support position at ECS Federal, LLC?
Biological Technologies Office (BTO) at DARPA is seeking exceptional candidates with expertise in machine learning and molecular biology to join our dynamic Science Team. We're looking for innovative biophysicists and computer scientists who can apply rigorous engineering principles to biological systems, particularly in the design and implementation of proteins up to cell-scale molecular models. You will support our Program Managers (PMs) as part of one or more teams in developing revolutionary approaches to engineer software systems for predicting biology in the space of biophysics, bioinformatics and hybrid modeling.
A candidate's primary focus will be to support PMs in developing revolutionary concepts and preliminary data that leverage physical and engineering principles to create robust, tunable software solutions with precise, programmable functions towards harnessing traditionally data-poor areas of machine learning.
You will work closely with PMs, providing specialized technical expertise and dedicating your time to help them develop, justify (or contradict) and refine their ideas. Your role will be to augment the existing SETA teams, collaborating with them to create compelling Program Initiation Pitches (PIPs) that incorporate feedback from peers and leadership.
Requirements:- Advanced degree
- Ability to obtain DoD TS/SCI clearance
- Ability to be onsite a significant portion of candidates time
- Deep understanding of current trends and emerging technologies in in programming of ML/DL architectures, particularly experience with developing large language models tuned to millions of parameters.
- Significant experience with biophysical modeling of large biomolecular systems (5 million particle count), including but not limited to multiscale and/or all-atom molecular dynamics methods.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and/or patents demonstrating novel computational methods. Participation in top ML conferences.
