ECS is seeking a GitOps Manager to work in our Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon [contract award].
The GitOps Manager is responsible for integrating development and operations teams' efforts to improve collaboration and productivity, with an emphasis on code versioning and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. The GitOps Manager will serve as a liaison for enabling mission software development and continuous improvement and will work closely with the development and operations teams to ensure that the platform's components perform optimally across different environments and meet all security requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive GitOps strategy for the platform, including the use of versioning and IaC practices to improve collaboration and productivity between development and operations teams.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify and address gaps in the platform's components, and work with operations teams to ensure that the platform's components perform optimally across different environments.
- Serve as a liaison between development and operations teams, and work with external partners and vendors to ensure that the platform meets the latest security and performance requirements.
- Develop and maintain playbooks and documentation for GitOps processes and procedures, and provide guidance and support to development and operations teams on the use of these processes and procedures.
- Conduct training and awareness programs for development and operations teams on GitOps best practices and tools, including Agile and DevOps.
- Identify and recommend improvements to the GitOps process and frameworks to ensure that the platform meets the latest security and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure that the platform's components meet the latest security and performance requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development or operations, with a focus on GitOps and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Strong understanding of GitOps methodologies and frameworks, including Agile and DevOps.
- Experience with cloud security and zero-trust architectures.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and tools.
