ECS is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer (Tester Technical Advisor (DARPA-SETA) to work in our Arlington, VA office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will provide scientific, engineering, and technical assistance (SETA) support to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Tactical Technology Office (TTO). The candidate will support DARPA/TTO in all aspects of technical program support including executing existing programs, designing, developing, establishing and implementing new starts, ensuring Service transition, and responding to TTO/ DARPA Director’s office (DIRO) and other Department of Defense (DoD) office requests. The candidate will identify, assess, prioritize, and offer recommendations on proposed and emerging technologies to program manager and performers. The position requires interaction with government customers at all levels of authority and technical acuity, and therefore the individual must be able to effectively communicate technical information through excellent verbal and written skills. Due to the fast-paced environment, individuals must have a dedicated work ethic, be responsive to challenges that arise on the job, be flexible to schedule changes, show initiative and creativity, and be capable of developing new research concepts.
Tasking may include:
- Coordination with the intelligence community to maintain currency with program related intelligence products.
- Continuous independent risk management assessment, monitoring, and mitigation recommendations.
- Provide independent analysis and reporting of program related activities to assist in evaluation of performer progress based on the task elements within the performer work breakdown structure.
- Survey, review, and assess test and demonstration plans, hardware, software, and facilities, and validate test readiness to include coordinating, monitoring, and assessing program launch, test, and demonstration events.
- Organize and conduct technical workshops, technical evaluations, and troubleshooting teams as required.
- Provide technical input to program summary and review briefings and documents, including milestone reviews, program approval documents, and external briefings.
- Perform studies and assessments of technology transition, mission utility analyses, cost and customer benefit analyses, and force structure integration analyses.
- Assist in the management of all Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) performers, SETAs, and SMEs to ensure proper coordination of activity and maintain Government’s visibility on status and issues.
- Work with the PM in strategic planning of budgetary and schedule trade-offs/variance analysis
- Draft and maintain program control documentation, such as program approval documents.
- Prepare reports on program activity, including biweekly activity reports, DARPA information requests, and Congressional inquiries.
- Coordinate with the DARPA Public Affairs Office (PAO) and TTO front office as required to ensure timely approval of internally generated and BAA performer material for public release.
Required Skills:
- Must possess an active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- B.S. degree in Science or Engineering
- Capable of integrating technical findings, risks, issues, and recommendations with the respective program Technical Lead
- Develop and monitor strategies to integrate system and subsystem components across all segments of the program.
- Demonstrated program management expertise, with experience following program management best practices in a research environment.
- Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar areas needed to broadly support program goals.
- A minimum of 5 year of relevant work experience.
- Ability to maintain focus and productivity in a rapidly paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to respond to partners with professionalism
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Travel up to 10% may be required.
Desired Skills:
- Cleared for DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
- MS in Science or Engineering
- Experience Supporting DARPA
- 10 years of relevant work experience.
