What are the responsibilities and job description for the Geotechnical Field Coordinator position at ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC?
- Layout of borings and test pits by both conventional surveying and Global Positioning Systems (GPS), observation and classification of test pits and soils, perform hand auger borings, DCP testing, soil logging, and other geotechnical field work
- Daily communication is required with site contractors, project managers and ECS personnel
- Office responsibilities may include classification of samples obtained from drilling operations and reduction of GPS data for utilization and production
- May be involved with calculations and data reduction of test results, as required
- Assist in department vehicle and equipment maintenance and documentation, as needed
- Assist in managing and maintaining inventory of all department supplies and equipment, as needed
- Assist in preparing and coordinating field testing schedules and subcontractors, as needed
- Assist in training staff on field testing and sampling techniques, data reduction, and data interpretation
- Assist in managing field activities for the drilling department, as needed
- Additional duties include supporting the geotechnical department as experience and ability dictates
- Promote safe working practices on all projects
- May also work in the construction materials testing department. In this capacity, you will be working primarily on active construction sites involving field operations, testing, sampling, and inspection of soil, aggregate, concrete, grout, masonry, and asphalt
What We're Looking For
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- 5 years of related experience geared toward geotechnical drilling processes and procedures
