Role And Responsibilities
Baer Manufacturing is offering a new internship opportunity to students or recent graduates who are interested in gaining an understanding of and experience in manufacturing operations. Interns will spend one month in each of three departments at our manufacturing and prefabrication division: Estimating, Virtual Design and Construction, and Production. Interns will receive training and guidance from our experienced team members as they see how these three departments work together to meet and exceed internal and external customer expectations.
Approximately 4 weeks will be spent in each of the following departments during the summer internship:

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Estimating
- Learn from the Business Development Manager, Manufacturing Estimators, and Project Managers to understand how Baer Manufacturing can provide unique, cost-effective, and rapid delivery of pre-fabricated electrical construction materials to Hunt Electric and third-party customers.
- Gain experience using estimating software to develop project quotes and estimates.
- Shadow Project Managers to gain insight into how they translate customer expectations into project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Work under the guidance of our VDC Designers to learn about the design and modeling process for large- and small-scale projects.
- Create and detail 3-D models of electrical construction projects utilizing Revit and other design software.
- Prepare drawings for the production shop floor following internal standards and meet with Production Managers to understand the assembly and packaging process at Baer Manufacturing.
- Shadow and assist Production Managers to understand how production schedules and projects move from plans to fulfillment.
- Learn and apply Lean principles to the work processes at Baer Manufacturing and interact with Quality, Supply Chain, and Logistics work together to complete routine and custom materials.
- The rotation through Production will allow you to gain an in-depth understanding of one production cell/line while creating awareness of all operating product lines.

Qualifications And Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and pursuing degree in electrical construction, construction management, electrical engineering or similar discipline preferred.
- Positive attitude with desire to learn new things.
- Experience with or desire to learn industry software such as Bluebeam, Accubid Enterprise, Manufacton, Revit, and Navisworks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet daily deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter and able to work independently and in a team environment.
- This job operates in a manufacturing environment and in a professional office environment.
- This role regularly uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.
- This position requires the ability to lift files and open file cabinets.
- Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch.
- This position may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) per facility requirements, including but not limited to, hard toe work boots, safety glasses, gloves and, high visibility vest.
