Primary Purpose : Configure, support, and maintain ECISD's switches, routers, and core equipment.
Qualifications :
Education / Certification :
- Bachelor's degree or certifications preferred but not required.
Special Knowledge Skills :
Experience in various network topologies.Proficient with network troubleshooting.The ability to manage small projects.Strong problem solving and analytical skills.LAN, WAN, and WLAN knowledge.Proficient with Cisco hardware and IOS.Working knowledge of VOIP and EIGRP routing protocol.Experience :
Minimum of 3 years' experience in the field.Major Responsibilities and Duties :
Make decisions if the Network Hardware Manager is absent.Provide support and guidance to other Network Engineers as it pertains to best practices.Manage, upgrade, and configure WAN, switches, routers, and other peripheral devices.Manage, upgrade, and configure the firewall.Manage the district's ACI.Maintain and troubleshoot main core switches.Troubleshoot / maintain access control system.Maintain and troubleshoot campus edge switches that provide connectivity via private fiber.Manage wireless access points and controllers.Maintain and troubleshoot campus UPS hardware.Analyze network activity, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network issues.Troubleshoot link connectivity issues such as WAN, data center, and end devices.Ensure network availability and uptime.Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.Screen network performance.Collaborate with network engineers to optimize network performance.Help support the video surveillance hardware and software, including SAN and VMSPerform other duties as assigned.Working Conditions :
