ECU Health North Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, 204-bed acute bed facility serving Halifax, Northampton and Warren counties in the north-central region of North Carolina. Its service area also reaches into southern Virginia. With more than 600 team members, the hospital offers a broad range of medical and surgical services. It features a 24-hour emergency department and offers advanced diagnostics as well as specialty and primary care.
Position Summary
The Assistant Laboratory Manager performs supervisory duties for day-to-day operations of the Laboratory (writing procedures, employee scheduling, laboratory inspections, Quality Control, new instrument setup and correlation, proficiency testing, employee evaluations and disciplinary coaching, and other special assignments). Works closely with the Laboratory Manager, Medical Laboratory Director, and Medical Staff. Must be able to perform clinical laboratory tests by standard operating policies and procedures, understand method principles, perform quality control & calibrations, perform preventive maintenance, and analyzes results as to the accuracy, acceptability and critical limits. Assist with training of MT/MLT and phlebotomy students and new employees.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate Degree (or higher) in Medical Laboratory Technology or Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science
- Three or more years of clinical laboratory required experience
Other Information
- 40 hours a week
- Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm)
