About ECU Health North Hospital
ECU Health North Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, 204-bed acute bed facility serving Halifax, Northampton and Warren counties in the north-central region of North Carolina. Its service area also reaches into southern Virginia. With more than 600 team members, the hospital offers a broad range of medical and surgical services. It features a 24-hour emergency department and offers advanced diagnostics as well as specialty and primary care.
Position Summary
The Specialty Nurse demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide clinical care and support department partnerships to achieve positive patient outcomes. The Specialty Nurse demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span, and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, and interpret the appropriate information required to identify needs of the patient relative to his/her age and condition. The Specialty Nurse possesses specialized knowledge, skills and training to provide care to patients with complex pathology and operates at a higher level with larger amounts of autonomy than a Staff Nurse in ECU Health's Specialty Clinics.
Minimum Requirements
- American Heart Association BLS Certification.
- Current license as a RN in the state of North Carolina.
- Demonstrates competencies in nursing practice.
- Basic computer skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- American Heart Association ACLS may be required based on clinic.
- 3 years directly related specialty experience
