ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.
Responsibilities
Up to $30K Commitment Incentive
Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required.
Three to four years related experience

Responsibilities
Up to $30K Commitment Incentive
- Assumes assigned responsibilities and authority for managing a nursing unit: Holds team members accountable for functioning with adherence to their job descriptions and initiates coaching as needed. Participates in budget planning and cost containment plans. Coordinates, evaluates and improves nursing care. Promotes safe, cost effective quality patient care.
- Assists and evaluates staffing patterns based on acuity and team member competency. Demonstrates appropriate caring behavior in the workplace, treating patients, their families, visitors and team members with respect and dignity.
- Acts as liaison between patient, family and physician. Serves as communication agent between Nursing
- Shows evidence of continuing professional growth and fulfills annual education requirements. Assists team members with interpretation of policies and procedures. Facilitates needed changes in policies, procedures and protocols. Serves as a resource to team members in problem identification and solution. Influences team member behavior for improved team member relations and patient care. Utilizes support services appropriately.
- Demonstrates active participation in the Process Improvement process.
