Position Summary
This position is responsible for the preparation and assembly of food products including, but not limited to: salads, sandwiches, desserts, gelatins for patient, retail and catering areas. Using basic cooking methods, preparation will include following standardized high volume recipes to assemble and prep ingredients to create high quality final products.
Minimum Requirements
Must be able to read, write and speak English (Bilingual in Spanish is preferred)
Experience
Knowledge and Skills-- Good verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner, Must be able to multitask and maintain a positive attitude. Basic culinary skills appropriate for the position. Must be able to read, comprehend and follow standardized recipes. Good working knowledge of food preparation. Experience with institutional kitchen equipment and in large volume food preparation.
Attitude- Must have a positive and upbeat personality with excellent customer service skills. Must be able maintain a positive attitude while functioning under pressure.
Physical-- Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 6 hours); Specific physical characteristics and abilities required: agility, dexterity and long periods of walking (up to 6 hours), standing, bending, carrying or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
Ability to complete and maintain a Serve Safe Certification within the 1st year of employment is preferred but not required.
1 to 3 years experience is a healthcare setting is preferred.

Part time position with benefits - 20 hours per week
Day shift: 11am-7:30pm
Rotating weekends/holidays
