Position Summary
The Director of Financial Operations position will report to the VP of Finance at the Medical Center and work in collaboration with the corporate finance offices in the ECU Health system. This position will have responsibility for the direction and leadership of operational, financial and programmatic activities for Finance, primarily focused on financial operational excellence within the Medical Center.

As The Director Of Financial Operations, You Will
- Ensure the establishment and maintenance of sound financial information and functions as a liaison between the financial team and Operations.
- Create a seamless financial operational model throughout the organization.
- Provide education and support for departments to enhance their understanding of hospital financials including revenue, expense, profitability and key indicators.
- Design service line reports and tools to assist operational and physician leaders across the Medical Center
- Formulate and refine initiatives and tactics throughout the year to ensure operational and financial success in meeting assigned targets and improvement plans.
- Provide consultation to leadership team on major and complex healthcare trends and issues with strategic importance.
- Oversee service line profitability reporting, pro forma work and general finance decision support.
- Responsible for development of business plans, collaborating on the annual operating budgets and capital process as they relate to ECU Health Medical Center.
- Manage and monitor day-to-day finance operations, including but not limited to financial reporting, budget, cost accounting, productivity, capital and general data reporting.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy by leading and participating in the design of reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate with administrators, medical directors, division chiefs, and department chairpersons to support departmental goals.
- Bachelors or higher is required
- Masters is required; or 15 years work experience within a finance function
- Minimum 7 years of progressively more responsible experience in health care finance
- Previous managerial experience is preferred
- Strong excel / computer skills
- Analytical skills with proven ability to resolve issues/problems by leveraging business and functional knowledge, and client relationships
- Ability to translate complex financial data and analysis into presentations for appropriate audience.
- High level of interpersonal, management and organizational skills are necessary with special focus on customer service orientation skills
- Demonstrate credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority
- Ability to bring individuals together to resolve differences and/or to achieve acceptance of a solution
- Collaborative working style to facilitate open sharing of information and cooperation with various project participants and/or stakeholders
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the mission, vision and goals of ECU Health
- Role preferred to mostly be on site with ability to work from home if and when needed, minimum expectation hybrid splitting the week with in office and work from home
- 40 hours a week
