Paraeducator / Behavior Support

Position Overview : The Paraeducator will work collaboratively with certified teachers, clinician and BCBA to support the academic, behavioral, and social development of students in grades K-5. The individual will provide one-on-one and small group instruction, implement behavior modification and intervention strategies and assist in the creation and adaptation of educational materials to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
Major Responsibilities & Requirements :
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction in academic subjects, under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Support students in developing independent learning skills and self-management strategies.
- Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Implement behavior management strategies and techniques to support students with behavioral challenges.
- Monitor student behavior and provide feedback to the teacher regarding student progress and needs.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other school staff to support the overall development and progress of students.
- Assist in the preparation and adaptation of educational materials and resources to meet the individual learning needs of students.
