State Department of Education After School Grant
BASES (Before & After School Enrichment Services)
Part Time/Academic Year

$30.00 per hour
 
Anticipated hours: 2 hours per week (1.5 hrs. per day X 1 day per week, plus .5 hr. planning time weekly) after school.
 
Major Responsibilities:

• Implement grant funded Science/STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) curriculum for grades K-8 within the existing after school program. 
• Align state standards for science related curriculum between school/district and after school program.
• Assist with data collection as required by grant (i.e. activity, attendance, pre/post student surveys, as needed).
• Coordinate with BASES Grant Coordinator on timelines and activities to meet grant requirements.
• Act as liaison between school and after school program for grant related activities.

 
The Teacher/Science Specialist works under the supervision of the BASES Grant Coordinator.  The position is located in the EdAdvance after school program within the school building.
 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education required, Math/Science Education preferred
• Valid Connecticut Teacher Certification required: 305 Elementary Grades 1-7
• Experience with Science/STEM curriculum
• Knowledge of state & Common Core standards in Science & Math
• High degree of energy & enthusiasm for working in a well-rounded after school program setting
