This is how you will grow:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Process Engineer with expertise in process systems, rotating equipment, and machine design. This role involves safely leading the engineering, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems in an industrial setting, ensuring seamless integration of rotating equipment, optimizing mechanical processes, and overseeing field installations.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering and field execution, ensuring the safety, reliability, efficiency, and maintainability of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering & Design:
- Develop mechanical process designs for industrial systems, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating equipment
- Lead the design and optimization of machine systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards (API, ASME, ANSI)
- Create detailed engineering specifications, P&IDs, mechanical layouts, and component selections
- Work closely with structural and electrical engineers to ensure integrated system designs
Rotating Equipment & Process Engineering:
- Specify, evaluate, and troubleshoot rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, and fans
- Perform failure analysis and develop corrective action plans for mechanical equipment
- Optimize process systems to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance operational performance
Field Installation & Millwright Supervision:
- Act as a field superintendent for mechanical installations, overseeing millwrights, and pipefitters and contractors during equipment erection and alignment
- Ensure proper installation, maintenance, and commissioning of industrial machinery
- Conduct precision alignment, vibration analysis, and mechanical testing
- Review and approve millwright work procedures, lift plans, and rigging plans
Project & Construction Management:
- Coordinate with project managers, EPC contractors, OEMs, and other installation team members to ensure project milestones are safely achieved
- Provide technical oversight and field engineering support during installation and startup
- Develop preventive maintenance programs for mechanical systems
Requirements
This is how you will take us forward:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Rotational Engineering, or a related field of study.
- 10 years of experience in Mechanical Process Engineering, installation and commissioning of rotating equipment, or Millwright and/or Pipefitter supervision.
- Safety first mindset.
- Hands-on experience in machine design, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and process simulation tools
- Familiarity with industry codes: API, ASME, ANSI, NFPA, OSHA
- Strong background in alignment techniques, vibration analysis, and reliability engineering
- Experience in heavy industrial environments
- Ability to draft mechanical drawings, P&IDs, field mark-ups and as-builts, and shop drawings
Preferred Skills:
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Experience managing field teams and subcontractors
- Hands-on field troubleshooting skills and ability to work in high-paced industrial environments
- Knowledge of rotating, equipment failure analysis and root cause identification
