Opportunity
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will be a vital member of the leadership team of the North American division of Edged Data Centers. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Environmental and Safety Manager to oversee environmental compliance and workplace safety at our state-of-the-art data center facilities. This role is critical in ensuring the company adheres to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding environmental practices and safety standards. The Environmental and Safety Manager will lead efforts to foster a safe, sustainable, and compliant work environment while implementing proactive strategies to mitigate risks and minimize environmental impact.
The Environmental Health and Safety Manager needs to be an agile, team-focused individual, with proven professionalism, who is comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:Environmental Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations such as EPA, OSHA, and local/state ordinances.
- Develop and maintain environmental policies and procedures related to waste management, water usage, energy consumption, SPCC and any other environmental programs.
- Oversee environmental impact assessments and audits to ensure the data center meets or exceeds sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and manage permits related to air quality, water discharge, hazardous materials, and waste management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and contractors.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Organize and lead safety training programs and drills for all staff, including emergency response and disaster recovery plans.
- Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for prevention.
- Manage and maintain records of safety inspections, audits, and environmental compliance reports.
- Serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders for safety and environmental matters.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents, accidents, and environmental concerns in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with the operations and facilities teams to implement and track sustainability programs aimed at reducing the data center’s environmental footprint.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and carbon footprint reduction, including the adoption of green technologies.
- Participate in industry forums and maintain knowledge of trends, standards, and new regulations related to environmental sustainability and safety in the data center industry.
Education / Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in environmental management and/or safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA certifications) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in environmental compliance, safety management, or a related field, preferably in a data center or similar technical/industrial setting.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing safety and environmental policies and programs.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental safety, hazardous materials handling, and workplace safety.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and workplace safety practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively train employees and engage stakeholders.
- Proficiency in safety and environmental management software/tools.
- Experience in the technology, data center, or manufacturing industry.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive a culture of safety and sustainability.
- Experience setting up environmental, health and safety programs.

- The United States targeted base salary pay range for this position is: $135,000-$150,000 bonus (this range will vary by location)
