Summary of Major Functions:
Primarily responsible for the family focus of PHP/TIOP patients as part of interdisciplinary team. Provides family therapy, group therapy, and treatment planning, and documents all treatment processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates an individualized treatment plan with appropriate PHP goals and objectives (completed within 72 hours) and continually monitors progress and re-evaluates appropriateness of goals.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and practice of clinical interviewing/counseling skills.
- Demonstrates knowledge of family systems theory and implements it in family sessions and in conceptual formulations with team.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill in working with couples.
- Serves as a liaison between patient families and the EDCare treatment team.
- Ensures that patients are seen for family therapy as clinically indicated (once weekly for PHP and as indicated for TIOP).
- Demonstrates ability to build therapeutic rapport.
- Facilitates groups with expertise, demonstrating ability to engage, setting limits and monitoring the group process.
- Coordinates, implements multi-family program resulting in increased support and awareness by families.
- Is creative in therapeutic interventions to include homework assignments, community resources, etc.
- Timely completion and accuracy of clinical paperwork: treatment plan, progress notes, etc.
- Assures continuity and quality of program, which may include areas such as curriculum development and group implementation.
- Participates in weekly staffing, conveying pertinent clinical information and formulating goals for the following week.
- Ongoing attention to discharge plan evidenced by development of aftercare plan and patient’s knowledge of available resources.
- Provides clinical supervision to select clinical employees as assigned by the Program Manager/Director as requested.
- Provide schedules and information necessary to billing and other staff to ensure effective workflow processes.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in behavioral health required; PhD or Psy D in behavioral health preferred.
- LMHP, LMIHP, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PhD, or PsyD license within 2 months of hire required.
- Clinical conceptualization of the treatment of eating disorders and dual diagnosis grounded in evidenced-based treatment models required.
- Experience working with patients with eating disorders required.
- Experience working with families and systems required.
- Good oral and written communication skills required.
- Clinical leadership skills including experience supervising staff preferred.
Computer Skills:
- Must be able to effectively maneuver within an office scheduling system.
- Minimum of beginner skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Intermediate skills are required with Microsoft Outlook.
- Must be able to efficiently learn and effectively work within an electronic medical records system.
Physical Demands and Environment:
Physical demands of this job include but are NOT limited to:
Sitting frequently, standing occasionally, walking occasionally, talking frequently, hearing frequently, seeing constantly, reaching with arms and hands occasionally, crouching occasionally and using fingers intricately. This position requires lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds occasionally.
Environmental conditions of this job include but are NOT limited to:
95% inside, 99% normal temperature and 99% normal noise as expected in a medical office environment.
