What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Intern position at EDCO Products, Inc.?
The Accounting Intern is a valued member of the EDCO Products Accounting & Finance team. This part-time, non-exempt position is based in Hopkins, MN and reports to the Controller. This is a position with normal working hours Monday to Friday between 8:00AM – 4:30PM. This internship is project based, so the individual will have an opportunity to experience both larger ongoing projects as well as shorter-scale projects that align with our business and department objectives. This individual may also support day-to-day accounting clerical and administration duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Assist with data gathering, root-cause analysis, and testing on process improvement projects including involvement with recently implemented ERP.
- Assist with reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
- Some general ledger work to include journal entries & balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review documentation in support of external and internal audits.
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
- Document management to include preparing accounting-related processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting; 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
- Prior office, customer service, or internship experience is beneficial.
- High level of innovation, enthusiasm, integrity, professionalism, and dependability.
- Organized, resourceful, and curious.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Intermediate to advanced skill in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Able to work independently and effectively with others.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
