Eddie Kane Steel Products has been a family owned and operated business providing exceptional service in the steel industry for over 20 years. The company motto has always been to "Treat others as you would have them treat you" and we are in search of a full time Burning Machine Operator at our location in Masury, Ohio.
Shift: 1st Shift Monday -Friday 6 am to 2:30 pm (OT as needed)
General Description: Responsible for operating CNC burning machines to complete customer orders per work orders, drawings, etc, and in accordance with the company-wide QC program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads, interprets, and clearly understands work order specifications and sets up machines to produce material that meets quality and customer expectations.
- Communicates with foreman to ensure a complete understanding of all information.
- Sets up machines to optimize production efficiency and material yield without sacrificing quality.
- Performs and documents routine machine maintenance in accordance with the preventive maintenance plan and in coordination and communication with maintenance mechanic.
- Communicates with supervisor to ensure a steady flow of material is available to enable continuous production and minimal down time and performs a quick transition from job to job.
- Serves as primary quality inspector and performs QC responsibilities consistent with the EKSP Quality Control program and QC manual.
- Uses basic measuring tools to maintain quality standards on each order.
- Completes production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Moves raw material, work in process and finished goods into bins to be cleaned and actively participates in cleaning activities as time allows.
- Communicates with supervisor to ensure adequate labor is provided to maintain workflow.
- Communicates all pertinent job-related information to foreman daily.
- Reports any problems or quality concerns to supervisor immediately.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Above average knowledge and expertise of his/her designated work center and the ability to perform basic machine programming, trouble shooting and setup.
- Basic reading and mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, squat, stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Good oral & written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent

- Promptly report any accidents, incidents, near misses or hazardous conditions to your supervisor
- Familiarity with all EKSP forms, documents, reports related to your job function, including but not limited to forms and reports related to inventory, logistics, & production/operations departments
- Maintain neat and accurate written production documentation as required
- Communicate all pertinent job-related information to supervisor/manager daily
- Forward-thinking while learning from errors, with focus on quality and customer service, solutions, and continual improvements
- Focus on efficiencies and time- and labor-saving steps; cost reduction; increased profitability
- Performs all duties as assigned
