The company motto has always been to "Treat others as you would have them treat you" and we are in search of a full time CAD Technician/Programmer at our Corporate location in Sea Girt, NJ.
General Description: Responsible for CAD drawings and related activities for all processing orders and the scheduling of processing work orders based on acceptable lead times and plant capacity. This position requires coordination and collaboration with several production department foremen or supervisors, QC personnel, and sales team leader and individual salespeople as well.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- CAD programming of cut parts for steel plate processing orders per customer drawings or customer approved EKSP drawing based on customer description.
- Communication with sales team leader and salespeople regarding customer drawings as needed. Never assume, always confirm and obtain documentation as needed.
- Production scheduling of burning, grinding, and other value-added processing orders. This entails daily and even multiple times a day review of all customer orders to ensure timely processing.
- Ensure that all customer orders are given prompt attention and recognize the priorities to enable accurate scheduling consistent with customer demand, customer satisfaction, and EKSP objectives.
- Regular review of all operations SOP to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed and executed to maximize quality and service.
- Follow all QC policies and procedures & assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of needed QC procedures.
- Assist and participate in material sales.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skill Sets:
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Good interpersonal skills, phone manners and the ability to work with others
- Basic reading and mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Good organizational, planning and time management skills
- Excellent computer skills, including comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associates Degree or equivalent preferred
- CAD programming experience preferred
Expectations:
- Familiarity with all EKSP forms, documents, reports related to your job function, including but not limited to the EKSP paper flow from quoting to customer purchase order to job control document to sales order to release to bill of lading, etc., to become familiar with all EKSP forms, documents, reports, including but not limited to inventory forms and reports, cut sheets, purchase requisition forms, non-conforming reports, corrective action reports, etc.
- Communicate all pertinent job related information to supervisor/manager on a daily basis
- Forward-thinking while learning from errors, with focus on quality and customer service, solutions and continual improvements
- Focus on efficiencies and time- and labor-saving steps; cost reduction; increased profitability
- Conduct job duties in a safe and efficient manner. Abide by all safety policies and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Promptly report any accidents, incidents, near misses or hazardous conditions to your supervisor
- Performs all duties as assigned
