Position Overview:
We’re seeking a full-time Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator to help bring the SDS brand to life across multiple locations through authentic storytelling, local partnerships, and internal culture-building. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, organized, and passionate about people — both in the stores and in the communities we serve. You’ll be the bridge between our team, our guests, and the neighborhoods that support us.
Key Responsibilities:
- Celebrate Our Team & Culture:
Foster a positive and connected work culture by engaging with employees across all store locations. Capture and share employee spotlights, behind-the-scenes moments, and team milestones in a way that reflects our values and energy.
- Strengthen Community Ties:
Represent SDS Stores at community events, local sponsorships, and partnerships. Document our involvement through photos, short videos, reels, and blog-style posts to showcase our impact and presence.
- Social Media Content & Engagement:
Collaborate with the marketing team to manage and maintain a consistent social media calendar. Create and post engaging Facebook and Instagram stories as part of our daily content strategy, with a focus on real-time updates, in-store experiences, and upcoming promotions or events.
- Event Participation & Planning:
Assist with organizing and attending in-store and community-based events, including grand openings, employee celebrations, and local initiatives that drive brand engagement and visibility.
- Team Communication & Collaboration:
Participate in weekly in-person marketing meetings. Communicate regularly with the Regional Manager, store leaders, and team members to stay informed on store happenings and gather content ideas.
- Support Marketing Strategy Execution:
Provide input and creative ideas to support the larger marketing strategy. Work closely with the marketing team and graphic designer to bring those ideas to life.
Qualifications:
- A passion for people, storytelling, and building community
- Comfortable creating and posting social media content, especially Facebook & Instagram stories
- Outgoing, friendly, and confident interacting with team members and community partners
- Self-starter who thrives in both remote and in-person environments
- Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (required)
- Based in or near Breese or Highland, IL; frequent travel to Mascoutah and Williamsville locations as needed
- Background in marketing, communications, public relations, hospitality, or community engagement preferred
Position Details:
- Full-Time (Approximately 40 hours/week)
- Primarily Remote – with required in-person meetings, and community travel to all store locations
- Flexible schedule with occasional evening or weekend hours for community events
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
