What are the responsibilities and job description for the INTERNAL ONLY: CHIEF APPRAISER - $26.87-$29.65 PER HOUR position at Eddy County, New Mexico?
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Employee will report to the County Assessor and/or Chief Deputy Assessor and will be responsible for the proper assessment of real property, personal property, agricultural and grazing land. The Chief Appraiser will work with maps, building permits, and previous file information, etc. in order to locate property to be appraised. Employee will establish values of real, personal property, grades of property, land studies and determine the proper appreciation or depreciation, and will draw sketches and enter measurements and other information into a computerized appraisal program. Employee will be responsible for protests. Employee will also be responsible for directing, instructing, assisting, training, and checking the work and evaluating the performance of other employees. Employee will assist office managers with determining neighborhood factors, sales ratios, abstracts, warrants, certification, tax roll, daily maintenance, notice of values and be the backup for the office manager. All duties will be performed under minimal supervision. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.
