DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT

OF POSITION:

Position requires the following:

• Ability to work under the direction of special education and general education teachers;
• Provide support and services to students to meet educational goals and objectives;
• Ability to collaborate with staff in and out of the classroom;
• Work effectively with students to monitor behavior at lunch, recess, and throughout the school day;
• Understanding of principles of ABA (applied behavioral analysis) helpful but not required; 
• A willingness to be trained in ABA principles and Safety Care/de-escalation strategies;
• A willingness to use de-escalation strategies and physical management if necessary;
• Ability to collect data under the direction of the general education teacher, special education teacher, school psychologist, or principal;
• Flexibility and a positive attitude required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma required and college coursework preferred. Ability to perform necessary physical activities to fulfill job responsibilities.

SALARY:

Per Paraeducator Contract
