What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transmission Builder position at Edelbrock Group?
Transmission Builder is responsible for performing repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with OEM and/or TCI standards. Specifically, they will diagnose, disassemble and rebuild RWD transmissions and related components.

- Diagnose, disassemble and rebuild transmissions and related components on various types of RWD transmissions.
- Receive work orders from department manager paying special attention to build to specifications.
- Perform work as outlined on work order with efficiency and accuracy.
- Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
- Communicate with Part Pullers to obtain needed parts.
- Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Notify department manager or supervisor immediately if additional work outlined is not needed or required.
- Notify department manager or supervisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
- Document work performed.
- Attend factory-sponsored training classes.
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
- Keep shop area neat, clean, and be able to account for all company-owned tools at all times.
- Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- GM experience and ASE certification is a plus.
- Manual dexterity.
- Good Judgment
