Director of IT

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Director of Information Technology who will provide leadership to the IT team; ensuring the technology systems and/or solutions meet the needs of Eden’s operations and programmatic areas. In addition, the Director of IT will ensure alignment with organizational goals, as well as being optimally secured and configured. The Director of IT is responsible for the IT infrastructure, including the network management, development and system implementation, including security protocols, technical support, as well as making recommendations that essentially bridge the gap between technical operations and strategic decision-making. In addition, the Director works with senior leadership and department heads to help them utilize the application of technology within their respective areas of responsibility.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field or equivalent education and experience in IT systems management. 

Experience: 10 years of progressive experience in managing a multi-site virtual network with several hundred users. 5 years of leadership experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems and telecommunications, including servers, operating systems, telephones, software applications, cloud hosts, peripherals, and new technologies.
• Provide content knowledge/expertise and support during system upgrades and installations.
• Develop standard operating procedures and policies and guidance to IT staff and end-users.
• Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, consultant contracts and service agreements as a partner to Eden.
• Create an IT work environment that provides 24/7 system support.
• Develop and maintain IT components of the Mission Continuity Plan.
• Develop and maintain an Incident Response Plan.
• Manage IT Department financials including purchasing, budgeting, and financial reporting for the department.
• Keep current with the latest technologies; make recommendations to management and determine what new technology solutions will best meet Eden’s business needs.
• Manage IT staff, including hiring, training, evaluating, coaching and developing staff.
• Attend and participate in all relevant committee meetings.
• Guide the organization in using technology to automate processes and increase efficiency while reducing costs and maintaining compliance and security.
• Communicate with the Leadership Team on technology matters.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Valid driver's license with record in good standing (5 points or less).

Specialized Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of information privacy laws, access, release of information, and release control technologies.
• Experience with IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) – (i.e. Azure - Azure Virtual Desktop)
• Experience with SaaS (Software as a Service) – Microsoft 365, Google Workspace
• Knowledge of Threat Detection and Response (preferably experience with DarkTrace)
• Knowledge of security and privacy regulations (HIPPA, FERPA, Medicaid compliance, IT best practices, DDD regulations, etc.).
• Knowledge of system backup procedures.
• Networking skills (LAN, WAN, WIFI, and firewalls).
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff, to work with Executive management of an organization and to manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, establish and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated training and platform skills.
• Ability to conduct research into IT issues and products, and to take initiative.
