What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Interventionist position at Eden Central School?
The Eden Central School is accepting applications for a skilled, experienced Behavior Interventionist. The successful candidate will provide flexible support to both student and staff surrounding academic, social, emotional and behavioral needs of the students.
This position looks at producing the following:
-A positive change in student behavior by using appropriate interventions along with improving learning and personal growth.
-Establish effective communication and work with academic teams, administration, outside service providers and parent/guardians to
create the most effective support plan that will benefit both the student and school.
-Engage in Restorative practices with all aspects of the school community to motivate student engagement and to help resolve
conflict.
-Help with the Restorative process with individual students, groups and faculty/staff to enhance school climate and conflict resolution.
-Work with school administration to investigate bullying and harassment complaints and educate/support students.
-Provide classroom coverage for a variety of classes on days when there are no substitute teachers available.
-Provide student support opportunities such as Up for Learning and Student Council to promote positive student participation and
school community.
-Provide support to individual students with behavior plans such as check-in/check-out, rewards for positive behavior and
communication with staff and families regarding these plans.
-Behavior Interventionist for the behavior pod to manage behavior plans, intervene when identified “pod” students need behavioral support, participate in IEP meetings (.60 FTE of position).
