What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lunchroom Monitor (Part-Time) position at EDEN CHRISTIAN ACADEMY?
The lunchroom monitor is a spiritually service minded individual who understands the mission and
philosophy of Eden Christian Academy and enacts the shared vision of the school through practical
outcomes in the lunchroom at the direction of the campus principal. This is a 15 hours per week position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare the lunchroom for student lunches including table and chair preparation, supply set up, food
order count, etc.
- Coordinate food drop off and bag pick up with local food vendors.
- Ensure student safety by maintaining an orderly environment in accordance with school guidelines.
- Implements assigned cafeteria plan on a consistent basis.
- Maintains continual supervision of students in the cafeteria including circulation during lunch periods,
assisting students as appropriate, and during clean up.
- Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate teacher
and/or principal as soon as reasonably possible without compromising student supervision.
- Follows all school policies regarding discipline as well as positive and professional communication
practices.
- Partners with volunteers and assists with procedures and duties needed.
- Protects confidentiality of students, staff, and volunteers by keeping all privileged information private,
not discussing with anyone who is not entitled to such information.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Each lunchroom at Eden Christian Academy should first, be Christ-centered, continually pointing students
toward the character of Christ in action, word, and deed. The lunchroom provides students a safe and
relaxing space to engage with peers, build relationships, and eat lunch while receiving an academic break
from the rigors of the day's learning. The lunchroom fosters age appropriate independence, self-advocacy,
cooperation, community, and positive school culture through directed initiatives enacted by the lunchroom
monitor.
Requirements:
Physical Requirements to Fulfill the Essential Functions of this Job
- Move about the lunchroom and supervise students during lunch.
- Physically accompany students in the hallways or in other places inside and outside the buildings as the
students move from one location to another location on the premises.
- Have sufficient vision to allow for active supervision and interaction with students.
- Have the ability to quickly summon help when an emergency arises.
- Climb the stairs to reach the classrooms/offices on the higher floors at all campuses.
- Must be able to lift boxes up to 15 lbs.
Qualifications
- Have a mature relationship with Jesus Christ as his/her personal
- Lord and Savior and be active in an evangelical church.
- Be a Christ-like model for students in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40)
- Be supportive of the school's mission and doctrinal statements.
- Acceptable PA DOE employment clearances dated within one year: FBI Fingerprint/ Act 114 Federal
Criminal Background Check (Identogo Service Code 1KG6TR), Act 151 State Child Abuse Background
Report, and Act 34 PA State Police Background Clearance
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in education or related field preferred
- At least one year of relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting
- Basic personal computer skills (Gmail, Word, Excel)
- Feels called of God to work with children.
- Have the spiritual maturity, academic ability and personal leadership qualities to “train up a child in the
way he should go.”
- Exemplary written and spoken communication skills
- Strong collaboration skills; able to work well with a team
- Effective multitasker; can prioritize tasks based on importance and deadlines
