Patient Attendant

Eden Healthcare Center is looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and competent Patient Attendant to join our team!

Purpose: Provide care in a manner that protects and promotes resident rights, dignity, self-determination and active participation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist patients in daily living activities and provide comfort
• Sit with and supervise patient in order to achieve safety and care goals
• Maintain the cleanliness of the patient care environment (e.g. beds, bathrooms etc.)

Requirements and Qualifications:

• A punctual and positive attitude and overall well-being with attention to detail as needed
• willingness to listen, take direction and perform all necessary duties and responsibilities

Physical Capacities: (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)

• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
• Continuous bending, squatting, twisting and reaching.
• Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which includes an annual TB screening and physical examination.
• Must be able to stand for and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Requires infrequent lifting of weight up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Frequent pushing and pulling of carts and transporting residents.
• Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly and/or emotionally upset, and/or memory impaired.
• Must be able to manage resident behavior that includes verbal outbursts, combative behavior, striking out, and memory impairment

Environmental conditions:

Inside work, normal temperatures, some noise, occasional fumes/odors, chemical exposure and potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
