CAD Designer / Engineer (Woodworking) Cabinet Vision Experience Required

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced CAD Designer (or CAD Manager) to enhance our CAD department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cabinetry design, be proficient in Cabinet Vision, and possess the ability to translate design concepts into functional, detailed plans. This role is key to supporting our custom cabinetry projects from initial design through to production, ensuring quality, efficiency, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design custom cabinetry and millwork using Cabinet Vision software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
• Be a leader in the CAD department and coordinate with other departments (production, sales, etc.) to ensure timely completion of designs.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and the production team to understand project requirements and create detailed, production-ready CAD drawings.
• Revise and adjust designs as necessary based on client feedback or project changes.
• Create and maintain a library of design templates, standard components, and details to improve efficiency in the design process.
• Work closely with clients to refine designs, providing expertise on materials, finishes, and functionality when necessary.
• Provide technical support to the production team, ensuring designs are feasible and meet the required standards.
• Train and mentor junior CAD staff, providing guidance and oversight as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Extensive experience using Cabinet Vision software.
• Strong background in woodworking design and cabinet construction.
• Ability to translate complex design ideas into accurate, detailed drawings.
• Familiarity with woodworking terminology and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a growing CAD department or team in the woodworking industry.
• Knowledge of other design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, 2020) is a plus.
• Experience working in both residential and commercial cabinetry.
• A background in engineering or technical design is beneficial.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
