Day Camp Counselor
Status- Part-time / Temporary / Seasonal (PTS) position, non-exempt
Salary- Starts at $14 / hour
Hours- June - August; Monday - Friday up to 40 hours a week.
Locations- Miller Park, Nesbitt Preserve Park, Crestwood Park, Prairie View Park, Lake Riley Park, Staring Lake Park, and the Eden Prairie Community Center

Position Details
Every summer we welcome passionate, independent, and caring individuals to our camp community. We look for team-oriented individuals, to help us create quality experiences for every young person in our summer day camp programs. Counselors are vital members of our summer team. We value growth and opportunities to learn and grow as an individual and future professional in your field of study.
Gain valuable experience with curriculum development and organization, implantation of lesson plans, student, and behavior management skills and how to lead a group with increased communication skills.
The Day Camp Counselor position provides onsite leadership to youth and is the primary caregiver for each camper. The counselor assists in the development and organization of daily camp activities and implementing the experiences in small groups. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are :
Assure campers are always supervised.
Actively participate in all program areas with campers.
Provide daily care of each camper, including recognition of personal health needs.
Follow and uphold all safety and security rules and procedures.
Communicates with and greets the parents of the campers daily.
While these areas are the primary focus of the position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees may be called upon to perform a variety of duties in their roles with the City.
